Shortly after this little venture launched, Jessica Sidman was kind enough to publish her piece “This Veteran Bartender Will Create Personalized Cocktail Recipes for $10 a Pop” in the Washingtonian.
Since then, many people have completed their liquor cabinet survey, described their taste preferences, received their custom cocktails, and successfully crafted the recipes at home. Here are some of the results! Happy with yours and want to see it here? Just get in touch.
Lisa L., Arlington VA – “One of the toughest things about this pandemic has been watching my friends have tough days and having very few ways to send them a little love. It’s not like I can take them out for a drink and a chat right now! Chantal has offered a perfect way for me to let my friends know I’m thinking about them, and to have a little fun in the process. And it sure doesn’t hurt than every drink she’s created for me has been pitch perfect, too!”
Daphna S. & Kaeri J., Washington DC – “Thank you Chantal for the delicious recipes and making a great cocktail happen with limited ingredients. Thanks you for providing us entertainment during these ‘end of times’ times.”
Jennifer C. & Rob G., Washington DC – “Living in Washington, DC for many years, we’ve been fortunate to know one of the best mixologists around and sample her thoughtfully crafted drinks whether at Mockingbird Hill, at a special Redeye Menus dinner collab, or at her Literary Cocktails events at Petworth Citizen’s Reading Room. While sheltering at home these days, we now can still enjoy her amazing cocktail creations, but with at twist (!) — through her Cocktails for End Times project, Chantal, using the ingredients we have on hand, created delicious cocktail recipes that are not too difficult to prepare and are extremely delicious and best of all, are customized for us. After we made (and drank) the first three recipes on repeated rotation, we quickly put in another order for additional recipes. Lucky for all cocktail fans, her new project offers the opportunity for people outside of the DMV area to get to know Chantal and try her delicious and brilliant cocktails.”
Rachel D. & Julie M., Washington DC – “When the pandemic hit, we knew we’d miss out on Chantal’s Literary Cocktails menu for Charlie Jane Anders’ The City in the Middle of the Night, so we commissioned our own! Here’s ‘He’s so handsome that it hurts to look at him,’ made with Viña AB Amontillado, Dolin Rouge Vermouth, Angostura bitters, chocolate bitters, and an orange peel. Thanks, Chantal!”
